Hazy IPA / 6.8% ABV, 5 IBU, 15 SRM
INGREDIENTS:
Low Color Maris Otter malt, Wheat malt, Flaked oats, Cryo Pop hops, Cosmic Punch Omega yeast.
DESCRIPTION:
This new Hazy IPA uses Cryo Pop hops which contain concentrated lupulin resins and aromatic oils. They are designed to provide intense hop flavor and aroma, with little vegetal matter. We used them in whirlpool and dry hopping for bright fresh fruity hop character. We also used Cosmic Punch™ Ale yeast that generates thiols through biotransformation, releasing tropical aromas experienced in southern hemisphere hops.. This punchy strain unleashes vibrant grapefruit, passion fruit and guava notes. We then enlisted the help of local artist Sadie Burzan for the stellar label art.
HISTORY:
A modern craft beer style originating in the New England region of the United States. Alchemist Heady Topper is believed to be the original example and inspiration for many other interpretations that grew in popularity in the early to mid-2010s. Brewers are continuing to innovate and evolve the style.
