Cranberry Sour

Cranberry Sour

BEER STYLE / STATS:

Kettle Sour / 6.2% ABV, 10 IBU

INGREDIENTS:
Local Solstice Pilsner malt, Local Solstice Wheat malt, Idaho Gem hops, German Kolsch yeast, Cranberry puree, fresh Orange Peel, and Cinnamon.
DESCRIPTION:
We used a similar base with this recipe as we do for our other sour beers for a refreshing, medium-alcohol beer with a clean lactic sourness. We then dry hopped it with Idaho Gem hops, added copious amounts of cranberry puree, a lot of fresh orange peel, and some cinnamon. This is a one of a kind flavor medley that came just in time for the holiday season. You have to try it.
HISTORY:
Berliner Weisse is a  regional specialty of Berlin; referred to by Napoleon's troops in 1809 as “the Champagne of the North” due to its lively and elegant character. Refreshingly tart, these beers are often served with a flavored syrup like Woodruff or raspberry, the Berliner-style Weisse presents a harmony between yeast and lactic acid.
