BEER STYLE / STATS:
Double ESB - 8.5% ABV, 60 IBU, 5 SRM

INGREDIENTS:
Solstice Pale malt, Vienna malt, Honey Malt, Local Utah honey, Centennial hops, Amarillo hops, American Ale yeast

DESCRIPTION:
We took our delicious Deseret IPA inspired by Marshall Lent at Salt City Brew Supply and added it to Beehive Distilling Barrel Reserve Gin barrels. This American IPA is hop forward with citrus and floral notes and the use of local honey gives the beer a dry finish with just a hint of honey character lingering on the palate. The honey flavors meld perfectly with the botanicals of the gin for a dry, floral, and mild herb character with some nice alcohol warmth. Deseret is a local term that means Honey Bee which is closely related to hard work and being industrious in nature, and this beer couldn’t be more local, and was a lot of work to make. We hope you enjoy it!

HISTORY:
The first modern American craft beer IPA example is generally believed to be Anchor Liberty Ale, first brewed in 1975 and using whole Cascade hops; the style has pushed beyond that original beer, which now tastes more like an American Pale Ale in comparison.
