Oat Pale Lager
BEER STYLE/STATS:
American Pale Lager / 5.7% ABV, 30 IBU
INGREDIENTS:
Solstice Pilsner, Flaked Oats, Golden Naked Oats, Warrior hops, Mandarina Bavaria hops, Idaho 7 hops , German Lager yeast.
DESCRIPTION:
Much like an American Pale Ale, this beer is a refreshing and hoppy beer, with supporting malt to make the beer balanced and drinkable. The clean hop presence is a showcase for American or New hop varieties like Mandarina Bavaria and Idaho 7, and lagering this beer minimizes yeast derived fruity or spicy esters, so the hop profiles can really shine. The addition of oats gives it a smooth silky mouthfeel that goes great with the clean lager character.
HISTORY:
American Pale Ales are a modern American craft beer era adaptation of English pale ale, reflecting indigenous ingredients (hops, malt, yeast, and water). Using lagering yeast for a cold fermentation and minimal esters has been done in craft beer for some time, but the history is vague.
